A great way for small kids, especially little girls to see a concert! I know when my daughter was two, she did not like the 3D movie at Disney California Adventure. But as a six year old, she thought it was "really cool". She kept trying to reach out and touch the things that were floating at her.
Be forewarned, even though the tickets were expensive at $15 each, the line was very long a half hour before the movie was to start. So be prepared to stand and wait if you want good seats. I know there are theaters around Orange County showing the movie this week, including Aliso Viejo and Irvine, Tustin, Costa Mesa. Also the IMAX theater in Irvine.
The music was a bit loud and no one was dancing in the ailes, but you did hear some clapping to the beat every once in awhile. Though not a live performance, my daughter could not sit still and kept thanking me throughout the show even though she has never seen Hanna Montana before (we don't get TV).
The movie starts out with some a kind of "making of the Hanna Montana Concert Tour" and I got the impression the movie did not show the whole concert. It included the Jonas Brothers, her mother and father.
I was surprised (having never seen a Hanna Montana show before) how little dancing there was. They did have background dancers and a lot of movement, but not a whole lot of choreography with Mylie Cyrus in it. This surprised me as little girls are very attracted to that.
The show is in theaters just for this one week only and it is a flat $15 (no matinee pricing). So if you want to go, you need to go this week.
All in all it was a great one hour that was, as my daughter remarked on her way out, "too short". A great valentine's gift to my daughter! Happy Valentines day sweetie.
