What a great program for your budding naturalist! In my daughter's first meeting they found doodlebug (sp?) tracks and quail tracks, a wolf spider and bobcat scat. They also learned about native plants and what a ranger does. She could not stop talking about the program. Since she is very into science and nature, this program has a strong appeal to her.
This is intended to be a monthly program (the third thursday of every month) and after completing seven meetings, they get to become junior rangers.
Second and third graders ages 7-9 will become junior rangers by learning about wilderness plants and animals and how to care for native habitat. Reservations required. Program: $10/person. Parking: $3.
